Publishers’ catalogues – print or digital – are frequently the key element of their sales efforts. The Museum’s varied and ambitious publishing program demanded a presentation equal to their high editorial and production standards. The underlying grid neatly accommodated quite a lot of information while allowing plenty of room for supporting images. Over the years, we evolved the design to accommodate changes in emphasis and an increased need to display backlist titles, while making surprisingly few changes to the page structure and typographic program.
